Liposomes as a vehicle for drug delivery

Drug delivery systems are used to modify the pharmacokinetics of a drug by altering its therapeutic index and/or duration of activity. This article examines the properties of liposomes that promote their use for drug delivery and gives examples of clinical applications of the technique.
