Attitudes toward blindness and blind people: what do we believe?
Abstract:
The attitudes of sighted persons are recognized as a major influence on the successful adjustment of blind people to their disability. Although actual measurement is a quite recent development, attitudes toward blindness and blind people have a long history. The purpose of this article is to review the descriptive and research literature that addresses attitudes of sighted and non sighted persons toward blindness and blind people.
