[Changes in the actual oxygen level of the liver in barbiturate-halothane anesthesia]
Abstract:
The changes in acutal O2-level of the liver were studied in 20 dogs under barbiturate-halothane anaesthesia by means of a RADELKIS OH-102 type polarograph. A thread was led under the hepatic artery and the socalled "ligature test" applied. Occlusion of the vessel lasted 60 s in each measurement. A reactive hyperaemia was observed after the administration of barbiturat and halothane amounting to 40 and 75 per cent, respectively. In the authors' opinion the new method opens new prospects to the study of physiological changes taking place in the liver.
