Summary

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) digestive disease affects one-third of patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), appearing in those with severe immunosuppression. Acute mortality was 23%, with a median survival of 7 months, regardless of maintenance therapy.
