Angle-closure secondary to ciliary body swelling

• A 44-year-old male presented with unilateral acute angle closure.
• Clinical examination revealed significant ciliary body swelling and a shallow anterior chamber in the affected eye.

Findings:

• The patient was treated with topical cycloplegics and corticosteroids.
• The anterior chamber deepened to match the fellow eye within 6 days of treatment initiation.
• No recurrence of angle closure was observed during the follow-up period.

Implications:

• Topical cycloplegics and corticosteroids are effective in managing unilateral angle closure secondary to ciliary body swelling.
• Prompt diagnosis and treatment can prevent vision loss in such cases.
• This case highlights the importance of considering ciliary body pathology in the differential diagnosis of acute angle closure glaucoma.
