Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of endoscopic laser-assisted dacryocystorhinostomy (LADCR).
  • To assess LADCR outcomes in primary and revision surgeries for epiphora and chronic dacryocystitis.

Main Methods:

  • Prospective review of 17 patients (19 LADCR procedures).
  • 12 primary and 7 revision cases were analyzed.
  • Follow-up averaged 15.6 months.

Main Results:

  • 100% success rate in primary LADCR procedures.
  • 60% success rate in revision LADCR procedures.
  • Two cases of conjunctival fistula resolved without complications.

Conclusions:

  • Primary LADCR efficacy is comparable to external dacryocystorhinostomy.
  • Revision LADCR success is less favorable, but requires more data.
  • LADCR is a viable endoscopic treatment for dacryocystitis.
