[A comparison between pneumatography and tomography (tomodensitometry) for examination of the visual pathway

Abstract:
The author describes the possibilities of x-ray examination of the extra- and intracranial parts of the visual pathway. After a survey of pneumatography of the orbit a comparison with pneumoencephalography and tomodensitometry (EMI-scanner) is made. Tomodensitometry must be regarded as a significant advance in neuroradiological examination because it is not dangerous and easy to perform. The indications for complementary pneumoencephalography are discussed in detail.
