Abstract:
Present-day trends in medicodemographic processes in Russia are discussed. Changes in population number, sex and age composition, share of capable and incapable populations, birth rate and death rate, and natural increment are analyzed. Local differences in the levels of natural changes in population numbers and in the structure of death causes are substantiated from a demographic approach viewpoint. The causes of present-day status of medicodemographic characteristics of public health are analyzed with consideration for remote effects of war loss, correlations with similar events in world history are traced.
