Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate medical students' educational experiences with asthma patients during their internal medicine clerkship (IMC).
  • To assess the impact of a lecture and supplementary guidelines on student knowledge and confidence in asthma care.

Main Methods:

  • Administered pre- and post-clerkship surveys to assess asthma knowledge and confidence.
  • Provided a 1-hour asthma lecture to all students.
  • Offered supplementary pocket cards with National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute asthma guidelines to half the students.
