Summary

Outbreaks of Yersinia pseudotuberculosis serovar 1b infection are often caused by multiple bacterial clones, a phenomenon termed polyclonal infection. This polyclonal nature was observed in both outbreak and sporadic cases within heterogeneous Y. pseudotuberculosis populations.
