Area of Science:

  • Dentistry
  • Prosthodontics
  • Oral Surgery

Background:

  • Precise dental implant placement is critical for esthetic and functional prosthetic outcomes.
  • Effective surgical templates are necessary for accurate implant positioning, phonetics, and hygiene.
  • Existing templates may have limitations in orientation, fixation, or surgeon flexibility.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To introduce a novel profile surgical template for dental implantology.
  • To design a template that meets specific criteria for orientation, comfort, fixation, and surgeon choice.
  • To develop a template compatible with image-diagnostic procedures.

Main Methods:

  • The profile surgical template was designed based on the buccal contour of missing teeth.
  • Criteria for template effectiveness include orientation, comfort, intraoral fixation, surgeon freedom, and imaging compatibility.

Related Experiment Videos

  • The design focuses on leveraging existing anatomical features for template guidance.
  • Main Results:

    • The profile surgical template was developed adhering to the specified design criteria.
    • This template aims to enhance the precision of dental implant placement.
    • The design facilitates the creation of prostheses meeting esthetic, functional, phonetic, and hygiene requirements.

    Conclusions:

    • The profile surgical template represents an advancement in guided dental implant surgery.
    • This approach offers a potentially more effective solution for achieving optimal implant positioning.
    • The template's design addresses key challenges in creating functional and esthetic dental restorations.
