Implementation of the European Core Curriculum

Two years ago a recognised post basic renal nursing course in Germany could have been entitled "the never ending story" (fig. 1). We have been trying to get a further education programme similar to that of intensive care nursing recognised by the government since 1972. A curriculum for the theoretical and practical lessons was developed and the organisation planned.
