Background:

Inflammatory cap polyposis is a rare colonic syndrome.
This condition affects the rectosigmoid region.

Observation:

The case presented with mucous diarrhea.
Endoscopic and radiological imaging revealed elevated, umbilicated nodular lesions.

Findings:

Histological examination showed polypoid lesions with elongated crypts and superficial abrasions.
These lesions were covered by inflammatory and fibrinoid material.

The etiopathogenesis of this novel syndrome remains unknown.
