Abstract:
Preventive strategy has decreased the morbidity and mortality from many diseases, but so far similar progress against cancer using chemoprevention as a strategy has not been achieved in a useful way. This article discusses the biology of cancer as it relates to chemoprevention, and the process and principles that the development of candidate chemopreventive agents should follow.
