- To investigate potential seasonal variations in leukocyte adhesion.
Summary:
- A novel technique utilizing glass syringes allows for the assessment of peripheral blood leukocyte adhesion.
- The method is demonstrated to be simple, reproducible, and informative for clinical practice.
- Seasonal variations in the adhesive capacity of polymorphonuclear and mononuclear leukocytes were identified.
Impact:
- This method provides a practical tool for clinicians and researchers to evaluate leukocyte function.
- Understanding seasonal variations is essential for accurate interpretation of leukocyte adhesion data in disease states.
- The findings contribute to a better comprehension of peripheral blood cell functional activities.
Abstract:
The author suggests a method for assessment of the peripheral blood leukocyte adhesive properties by making use of glass syringes and fit for clinical practice. The technique is reproducible, informative, simple. Seasonal variations of polymorphonuclear and mononuclear leukocyte adhesive capacity were detected, that should be borne in mind when estimating the peripheral blood cell functional activities in various diseases.
