[Benign tumors of the skin and its appendages]

At least, about a hundred of benign specific tumours originating in the epithelial and connective structures of the skin are nosologically individualized. In this count are not included all the clinicopathological variants of these entities and the numerous lesions which only look like tumours such viral warts or cheloidal scars. The most frequent benign skin tumours are seborrhoic keratoses, nevocytic nevi, dermatofibromas and hemangiomas. In this practical review we describe the most common tumours which have some clinical hallmarks and can be easily recognized without a histological checking.
