An aesthetic dorsum: the CATS graft
1Professor, Division of Plastic Surgery, Northwestern University School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois.
Abstract:
A Joseph resection of the dorsal hump permanently alters the nasal dorsum from a fused smooth cap into three individual components with an open roof. In those patients in whom infracture is unwise or in whom the septum is severely twisted or the skin is very thin and likely to show irregularities, reconstruction of the cap is done with a cartilaginous dorsal graft that has been sanded thin.

Papillary Dermis
The dermis might be considered the "core" of the integumentary system, as distinct from the epidermis and hypodermis.
