Summary

Low-dose broad-band ultraviolet A (UVA) phototherapy effectively softened localized scleroderma lesions. This safe treatment significantly reduced collagen concentration in affected skin areas, offering a promising new option.

  • To evaluate the therapeutic effect of low-dose broad-band UVA phototherapy on localized scleroderma.

Main Methods:

  • Twelve patients with localized scleroderma (morphea) received UVA irradiation (20 J/cm2, 3x/week for 20 sessions).
