The future in health care delivery. Lessons from history, demographics, and economics

As the clock ticked toward the millennium and the end of a thousand years of perceived progress, we felt compelled to take stock of where we have been and where we may yet go as a global community. The world is lit by lightening, created by our own hands, and as a species, we assume we have the power to speculate on a future we hope to control. What will that future look like? Or, better asked, how have we altered the present so that we may anticipate that future?
