Abstract
Objective:
To determine the possibility of curing chronic dacryocystitis by probing through naso-lacrimal duct under endoscopy.
Method:
30 adult eyes with chronic dacryocystitis were divided into two groups: 20 treated under endoscopy as endoscopy group and 10 under rhinoscope as control.
Result:
In endoscopy group, treatment in all 20 eyes successed at the first time, but in control group only in 8 of the 10 eyes successed at the first time and the other 2 needed second surgery.
Conclusion:
Treatment for chronic dacryocystitis by probing through naso-lacrimal duct under endoscopy is better.
