Abstract:
The individual freedom is a basic value of mental health that must be aim of promotion and prevention. The human freedom is a mental unit faculty, attached to the reason, with a function distributed into three sequences (choice, self-control and action). The profile of the free man is described as the author of a personal life organized on a vital project and a wide existential temporality, with a very favourable arrangement to the own well-being and other people's. The social liberty can only be real in a free culture.
