Summary
Rabbit tryptophan metabolism primarily uses the kynurenine pathway. High indole 2,3-dioxygenase activity compensates for the absence of the tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase (TDO) apoenzyme, suggesting an alternative metabolic route.
