Summary

Cannabis use may be linked to psychosis, with evidence suggesting it can precipitate schizophrenia or worsen its symptoms. Heavy, prolonged use of potent cannabis may rarely cause a distinct "cannabis psychosis." Further research is needed to clarify causal links.
