[AquacelAg used in nasal packing after endoscopic sinus surgery]
1Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Otorhinolaryngology Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, 510080, China.
Objective:
To compare the packing efficacy of AquacelAg with Merocel after endoscopic sinus surgery.
Method:
Twenty-four patients (48 sides) were observed. The right nasal side was used as AquacelAg group, and left side contrast group . Bleeding pain and mucosal edema in nasal cavity were observed.
Result:
The AquacelAg showed more efficacy in less pain than Merocel (P < 0.01). Bleeding and mucosal edema in nasal cavity was no significant difference with the control group.
Conclusion:
AquacelAg is a better nasal packing material.
