Summary

This study found no consistent evidence that occupational styrene exposure harms hearing. Auditory function tests in plastic boat builders did not reveal a significant ototoxic effect from styrene.

  • Mean age of laminators was 41 years with a mean styrene exposure duration of 7.5 years.
