Systemic high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) levels did not differ between normal tension glaucoma (NTG) and primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) patients and controls. This suggests vascular inflammation is not a primary factor in glaucoma pathogenesis for these individuals.
