  • Acid-base reactions (HCl/acetic acid with NH4OH/NaOH) were conducted in a gel phantom calorimeter.
  • Concentrations ranged from 1-12 M, with data recorded over 5 minutes.
  • Two prototype devices were constructed for administration.

  • Maximum temperature rises were observed almost instantly, peaking at 106°C with 12 M solutions.

  • Conclusions:

    • Thermochemical ablation reactions generate sufficient heat for tissue ablation.
