Heat shock proteins (HSPs) protect against gastrointestinal diseases. Genetic evidence confirms HSPs prevent gastric lesions and inflammatory bowel disease, with geranylgeranylacetone (GGA) achieving its anti-ulcer effect via HSP induction.
