Summary

Two validated High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) methods were developed for determining isoniazid (isonicotinic acid hydrazide). Both methods demonstrated excellent precision, accuracy, and low detection limits for tablet analysis.

Main Results:

  • Both methods achieved high linearity with correlation coefficients of 0.9998 (I) and 0.9999 (II).
  • Excellent detection and quantitation limits were observed: 0.6 µg/mL (I) and 0.055 µg/mL (II) for detection; 1.9 µg/mL (I) and 0.2 µg/mL (II) for quantitation.
  • High accuracy (recoveries >101%) and precision (RSD < 2%) were confirmed for both methods.

Conclusions:

  • Both validated HPLC methods provide reliable and comparable results for isoniazid determination in tablets.
  • The developed methods are suitable for routine quality control analysis of isoniazid formulations.
