Catecholamine-o-methyltransferase polymorphisms are associated with postoperative pain intensity

Specific single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the catecholamine-O-methyltransferase (COMT) gene were associated with reduced postoperative pain intensity. This finding offers insights into genetic factors influencing pain after surgery.
