Abstract:
Therapeutic education has been developing in Europe since the 1990s. Its origins lie in the treatment of diabetic patients. In France, a number of initiatives by healthcare professionals and educators have contributed to its emergence and development. Since the "Hospital, patients, health and territories" law of 21st July 2009, it has been fully recognised and encouraged.

Rooted in the belief that individuals inherently strive toward self-actualization, these approaches encourage clients to explore their feelings and experiences in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. Humanistic therapies differ from psychodynamic approaches by focusing on conscious experiences, present circumstances, and the potential for self-improvement rather than past conflicts...

Techniques of therapeutic communication I: Active Listening, Sharing Observations, Validation, and Using Touch
