Context:

Electrogustometry is a diagnostic technique for taste function.
The EG-2 is an advanced prototype building on previous electrogustometer designs.
Development is a collaboration between Warsaw University of Technology and the Military Institute of Medicine.

Purpose:

To develop an easy-to-use, portable, and battery-powered electrogustometer for rapid taste measurements.
To enhance diagnostic capabilities in taste perception and measurement.
To create a versatile device for both simple and advanced electrogustometry procedures.

Summary:

The EG-2 electrogustometer features a low-power microprocessor, a 5.7" graphical LCD with touchscreen, and a multilingual GUI for intuitive operation.
It generates various signal types (DC, sinus, triangle, rectangle) with adjustable parameters (0-500 pA, 0-500 Hz) via Direct-Digital Synthesis and Digital-to-Analog Converter.
The device supports data storage, patient management, manual/auto measurement modes, and USB connectivity for data retrieval and battery charging.
