Copper(I)-catalyzed Ullmann condensation enables synthesis of pentaalkoxycorannulenes from aliphatic alcohols and pentachlorocorannulene. These intermediates are readily transformed into diverse deca-heterosubstituted corannulene derivatives via electrophilic aromatic substitution.
