    Area of Science:

    • Rehabilitation Science
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Stroke Recovery

    Background:

    • Stroke survivors frequently experience challenges in participating in daily life activities.
    • Occupational Performance Coaching for stroke survivors (OPC-Stroke) is an intervention designed to enhance occupational engagement.
    • This approach integrates emotional support, tailored education, and problem-solving strategies to foster participation.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the potential effectiveness of OPC-Stroke in improving occupational engagement and related outcomes.
    • To assess the feasibility of the research methodologies for a larger-scale clinical trial.

    Main Methods:

    • A pilot randomized controlled trial design will be employed.
    • Participants will be randomized to receive either 10 sessions of OPC-Stroke or standard care.
    • Outcomes including participation levels, goal achievement, satisfaction, self-efficacy, emotional well-being, and cognitive function will be measured at baseline, post-intervention, and follow-up.

    Main Results:

    • This section is to be filled once the study results are available.

    Conclusions:

    • The study will provide preliminary data on the potential utility of OPC-Stroke.
    • Findings will inform the refinement of OPC-Stroke and guide future research on its efficacy in stroke rehabilitation.
