Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the effects of video-feedback intervention (VIPP) on preschool behavior problems in a high-risk sample.
To examine predictors and correlates of child problem behavior.
To assess the impact of VIPP on maternal sensitivity and infant attachment.

Main Methods:

A randomized controlled trial involving 77 first-time mothers and their infants.
Implementation of early short-term video-feedback intervention (VIPP) focusing on maternal sensitivity.
Assessment of child behavior problems at preschool age (Total, Internalizing, Externalizing Problems).

Main Results:

VIPP significantly protected children from developing clinical Total Problems and Externalizing Problems at preschool age.
No intervention effects were found for Internalizing clinical problem behavior.
Maternal satisfaction with perceived support was associated with fewer child behavior problems across all categories.

Conclusions:

Early video-feedback intervention (VIPP) shows promise in preventing externalizing behavior problems in young children from high-risk backgrounds.
The mechanisms underlying VIPP's effectiveness require further investigation.
Positive parenting interventions can be a valuable tool in early childhood mental health promotion.
