ICAM-1null C57BL/6 Mice Are Not Protected from Experimental Ischemic Stroke

Absence of Intercellular Adhesion Molecule (ICAM)-1 did not reduce neutrophil accumulation in the brain following cerebral ischemia. ICAM-1 deficient mice showed no protection from ischemic stroke, challenging previous findings.

- These findings suggest ICAM-1 may not be a viable therapeutic target for acute ischemic stroke treatment.
