Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scans can detect 18-F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positive lesions. This case highlights an FDG-positive dermal nevus, a benign finding, on PET/CT imaging.
Area of Science:
- Medical imaging
- Nuclear medicine
- Dermatology
Background:
- Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is a key diagnostic tool for neoplastic diseases.
- 18-F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake in cutaneous lesions can indicate malignancy or benign inflammatory processes.
- Dermal nevi are common benign skin growths.
