Reporter genes are a type of protein-coding gene that are often tagged to a gene of interest. Background:

Eosinophilic cystitis (EC) is a rare bladder inflammation characterized by eosinophilic infiltration.
Children with EC may present with nonspecific voiding symptoms, leading to potential misdiagnosis.

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the clinical features, pathological findings, and treatment outcomes of eosinophilic cystitis in pediatric patients.
To highlight the diagnostic challenges and effective management strategies for EC in children.

Main Methods:

Case report detailing two pediatric patients diagnosed with EC.
Inclusion of clinical presentation, pathological examination (cystoscopy, biopsy, blood, and bone marrow eosinophil counts), imaging (ultrasonography, CT), and treatment protocols.

Main Results:

Both patients exhibited elevated blood and bone marrow eosinophils, with characteristic bladder mucosal and muscular layer findings on biopsy.
Imaging revealed bladder wall thickening and mucosal lesions, which resolved after treatment.
Abnormal voiding symptoms resolved in both cases following treatment with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and corticosteroid therapies.

Conclusions:

Eosinophilic cystitis in children is rare and can be mistaken for other bladder conditions.
Cystoscopy with biopsy is crucial for accurate diagnosis.
Conservative management including anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and corticosteroid treatments is effective for pediatric EC.
