Summary

Adding Arglabin to standard neoadjuvant chemotherapy (AC regimen) significantly improved 3-year disease-free survival in locally advanced breast cancer patients. This combination therapy demonstrated superior outcomes compared to AC regimen alone or Arglabin monotherapy.

  • Breast cancer is the leading malignancy in women.
  • Locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) treatment typically involves neoadjuvant chemotherapy (CTx).
  • Arglabin, a plant-derived cytostatic, is being investigated for its efficacy.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the long-term outcomes of LABC patients treated with different chemotherapy regimens combined with Arglabin.
  • To compare the efficacy of Arglabin monotherapy versus combination therapy and standard chemotherapy.

Main Methods:

  • A study involving 93 LABC patients (Stage 2 and 3) divided into three groups: AC regimen (control), AC+Arglabin, and Arglabin monotherapy.
  • Neoadjuvant chemotherapy cycles were administered over 4 cycles.
