Nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections in tattoo recipients were linked to gray wash tattoo ink and tap water. Whole-genome sequencing identified Mycobacterium abscessus and Mycobacterium fortuitum as causative agents in this tattoo-associated outbreak.
