Heparanase (Hpa) is upregulated in acute pancreatitis (AP), worsening disease severity. Inhibiting Hpa with PG545 or Ronepastat significantly reduced AP symptoms, indicating Hpa as a potential therapeutic target for this inflammatory condition.
