Calibration errors in item parameter estimation negatively impact cognitive diagnostic computerized adaptive testing (CD-CAT) accuracy and efficiency. The compensatory reparameterized unified model (CRUM) shows greater stability, and methods like improving item quality can mitigate these adverse effects.
