A combined rotator cuff repair using single-row suture anchors and a subacromial balloon spacer significantly improves shoulder joint function and reduces pain in patients with large tears. This technique offers excellent outcomes, minimizing recurrence for better patient recovery.

To enhance treatment results for patients suffering from large and massive rotator cuff injuries.

Patients had Goutallier grade 1-2 fatty muscle atrophy and tendon retraction ≤2 degrees.

Treatment involved a single-row suture anchor technique combined with a subacromial balloon spacer.

Main Results:

Mean UCLA activity scores improved from 16±3 pre-surgery to 33±1 at 12 months post-surgery.
All patients achieved "good" or "excellent" outcomes following the combined treatment.
The combined method demonstrated a significant advantage in rotator cuff repair efficacy.

Conclusions:

The combined rotator cuff repair using single-row suture anchors and a subacromial balloon spacer is highly effective for large and massive tears.
