Glaucoma damages both superior and inferior retinal nerve fiber layers (RNFL) asymmetrically. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) and visual field (VF) tests reveal the inferior temporal (IT) RNFL sector is most compromised, aiding glaucoma diagnosis.
