Abstract:
A 26-year-old man was involved in a high-impact accident with chest wall injury. Imaging showed multiple rib fractures, pulmonary contusions, and hemopneumothorax. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance findings revealed replacement myocardial fibrosis from contrecoup injury. This highlights the importance of multimodality imaging for evaluation of patients after a blunt cardiac injury.
