Abstract:
This article explores the creation and implementation of the Frontiers in Aging Research (FAR) Lab, a virtual research lab. FAR Lab was created to address declining nursing research trends in educational settings. The authors describe how they established an interdisciplinary virtual lab focused on gerontology, overcoming barriers such as limited physical space, geographical constraints, and funding issues. The lab's development process, including policy creation, faculty collaboration, and student involvement, and the benefits and challenges are outlined. The creation of virtual research labs offers a viable, low-risk alternative for fostering research activities in resource-limited environments and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and mentorship opportunities.
