Oral Cancer Surveillance in Remote Areas Using a Smartphone Digital Platform

Oral cancer is a significant public health issue in Thailand, particularly in remote areas with limited access to regular screening. This study explores the use of a smartphone-based digital platform, RISKOCA, to enhance oral cancer surveillance in rural communities. Data were collected from individuals aged 40 and above using the platform, with high-risk cases reviewed by dental professionals. The results showed a prevalence of 1.29% for pre-cancerous lesions and cancer, predominantly in individuals over 60. Continuous screening through RISKOCA can facilitate early detection and improve outcomes, especially in underserved populations.
