Fe (III)-Photocatalyzed Decarboxylative Fluoroalkylation of Unactivated Alkenes via Distal Migration

Abstract:
The difunctionalization of unactivated alkenes represents a powerful strategy for constructing complex molecular architectures. Herein, we report a light-induced Fe(III)-catalyzed decarboxylation strategy for the regioselective migratory difunctionalization of distal unactivated alkenes using cost-effective and readily accessible fluoroalkyl carboxylic acids as fluoroalkyl radical precursors. This approach features the generality of the migration groups, including aryl, heteroaryl, cyano, and alkynyl groups and successful incorporation of mono-, di-, tri-, and perfluoroalkyl moieties.
