Glycine receptor (GlyR) antibody-associated progressive encephalomyelitis with rigidity and myoclonus (PERM) is a severe, rapidly progressing neurological disorder predominantly affecting men, often presenting with brainstem symptoms. This distinct condition warrants separate consideration from other stiff-person spectrum disorders.
