Abstract:
The nursery takes in babies whose family situation prevents them from staying at home. Placement may be the result of a parental choice, but more often than not it is the result of an administrative or judicial measure aimed at protecting the child. While placement ensures safety and care, repeated disruptions, unstable parental ties, and lack of continuity can lead to lasting emotional and developmental problems. It is in this sense that maintaining parental authority at all costs can be questioned.
